CHELSEY VAN DER MUNNIK | Glutton

I could cut off your hand

wrap my teeth about each

finger ‘til it snaps

like a baby carrot

to expose the end of your

bones, diamonds in a cave.

I could eat your bed,

destroying all comfort,

slurping your sheets up.

My burps will smell

of your sleepy sweat,

and your pillows will swell

to fill my belly.

I could live in your stomach,

Geppetto in the whale,

with a skeleton friend,

a fishing pole.

The gurgles of your tummy

are trains in the night,

a humming radiator

too hot to be near.

Because I love you that much.
